Montel Salifu is a Ghanaian/Australian Creative Director working across fashion, culture and brand.

His approach to creative direction is rooted in world-building, using product, photography, film, physical experiences and community to create work that extends beyond the individual image or product at hand.

Beginning his career in front of the camera as a model, Montel developed an understanding of image-making from within the process before moving behind the lens and into creative direction. Today, his work spans brand identity, campaigns, lookbooks, e-commerce, social, partnerships and physical experiences.

As Head of Creative at SWEATS, Montel helps shape the evolving visual language and creative direction of the brand, from seasonal collections and global campaigns to pop-ups and community experiences across Australia, New York, Los Angeles and London.

At the centre of his work is a simple belief: the strongest creative doesn’t just communicate what something looks like. It creates a feeling around it.

Alongside his work with SWEATS, Montel continues to explore personal projects and collaborations through For You, By Me — an ongoing platform for ideas, observations and creative expression.
